Iran slams 'behind the scene' US interference

Iran has slammed West's double standards in dealing with terrorism a day after the US and France admitted their role in Iran's post vote unrest.

"We expect officials of Western countries to adopt an honest approach to terrorism and condemn activities of anti-Iran terrorists including members of the Monarchy Organization of Iran and the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO)," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hassan Qashqavi told reporters on Monday.

Muhammad-Reza Ali-Zamani, a member of an anti-revolutionary group known as Monarchy Organization of Iran confessed, in Iran's Revolutionary Court prosecuting Iran's post-vote rioters, to contacting US intelligence agents in Iraq and then attempting to overthrow the Islamic Republic.

Qashqavi criticized the UK in particular for harboring key terrorists, including members of the Monarchy Organization of Iran.

The trials of the local British Embassy staff, Hossein Rassam, and Nazak Afshar, a French Embassy employee and a female French lecturer charged with 'acting against Iran's national security', Clotilde Reiss, were held in Tehran on Saturday.

Rassam admitted to having been ordered by its superiors to take part in Iran's post-election protests.

Reiss, 24, who was working in Iran as a lecturer at the Isfahan Technical University, admitted to the court that she had written about Iran's nuclear power program as well as the post-vote developments for the French Embassy and asked for clemency.

Afshar also admitted on Saturday that she had taken part in post-election demonstrations, sent emails containing information on the riots, and let rioters into the embassy based on orders given by her employers.

The developments come as US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Sunday that the US was trying 'behind the scenes' to empower protesters disputing Iran's presidential election.

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner also told the Le Parisien/Aujourd'hui en France newspapers on Monday that the country's embassy in Tehran was ready to give refuge to Iranian rioters fleeing police.

"What was said Saturday was true. If protestors, who were being chased had sought refuge in the French Embassy, the instruction was to open the door," he said.

In his Monday address to reporters, Qashqavi reiterated that Tehran has no plan to cut its relations with countries that have tried to interfere with its post-election events particularly with Britain.

He, however, said that other options, including expelling diplomats, could be put on the table.

Qashqavi also hit back at an "illegal and surprising" statement by the European Union's Swedish presidency calling for an immediate release of employees of the British and French embassies.

"Why do European countries interfere in Iran's domestic affairs? Why don't they leave our nation alone? We have never interfered in their internal affairs," said the spokesman.

Israel planned Ahmadinejad assassination

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is greeted by supporters during a visit to the northeastern city of Mashhad.

Israel, in collaboration with Iranian terror groups, planned to assassinate Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, says Tehran's top intelligence official.

Intelligence Minster Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i said Israeli officials met with the terrorist Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO) to execute the plan, according to a report by the semi official Fars News Agency.

"The Zionist regime had met with the MKO on the sidelines of the Sharm el-Sheikh meeting in Egypt and in Paris to assassinate Mr. Ahmadinejad," Mohseni-Ejeie was quoted as saying on Friday.

The terrorist group had, however, set conditions for carrying out the assassination, he added. "They had asked that the US and the West remove their name from their blacklists."

The MKO was founded in Iran in the 1960s, but its top leadership and members fled the country some twenty years later after carrying out numerous acts of terrorism inside the country.

The group is especially notorious for the help it extended to former dictator Saddam Hussein during the war Iraq imposed on Iran (1980-1988) and even aided him in the massacre of thousands of innocent Iraqis.

The group masterminded a series of assassinations and bombings inside Iran, including the 1981 bombing of the offices of the Islamic Republic Party, in which more than 72 Iranian officials were killed, including the then Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti.

Another group approached by the Israeli officials, the intelligence minster said, was a Pakistan-based armed terrorist group, known as 'Jundallah'. Iran's eastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan has been the target of terror attacks by the group, suspected of affiliation with al-Qaeda.

Two weeks before the June 12 presidential election in Iran, 'Jundallah' elements placed a bomb in a crowded mosque in the southeastern city of Zahedan, killing 25 people and wounding 120 more.

A 2007 Sunday Telegraph report revealed that the CIA had created Jundullah and provided it with 'arms-length support' and 'money and weapons' to achieve 'regime change in Iran'.

Another report broadcast by the US-based TV network, ABC also revealed that US officials had ordered Jundullah to 'stage deadly guerrilla raids inside the Islamic Republic, kidnap Iranian officials and execute them on camera', all as a part of a 'systematic objective to overthrow the Iranian government'.

Definition of the word Fundamentalist

This question is often hurled at Muslims, either directly or indirectly, during any discussion on religion or world affairs. Muslim stereotypes are perpetuated in every form of the media accompanied by gross misinformation about Islam and Muslims. In fact, such misinformation and false propaganda often leads to discrimination and acts of violence against Muslims. A case in point is the anti-Muslim campaign in the American media following the Oklahoma bomb blast, where the press was quick to declare a ‘Middle Eastern conspiracy’ behind the attack. The culprit was later identified as a soldier from the American Armed Forces. Let us analyze this allegation of ‘fundamentalism’ and ‘terrorism’:
1. Definition of the word ‘fundamentalist’
A fundamentalist is a person who follows and adheres to the fundamentals of the doctrine or theory he is following. For a person to be a good doctor, he should know, follow, and practise the fundamentals of medicine. In other words, he should be a fundamentalist in the field of medicine. For a person to be a good mathematician, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of mathematics. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of mathematics. For a person to be a good scientist, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of science. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of science.


2. Not all ‘fundamentalists’ are the same
One cannot paint all fundamentalists with the same brush. One cannot categorize all fundamentalists as either good or bad. Such a categorization of any fund amentalist will depend upon the field or activity in which he is a fundamentalist. A fundamentalist robber or thief causes harm to society and is therefore undesirable. A fundamentalist doctor, on the other hand, benefits society and earns much respect.
3. I am proud to be a Muslim fundamentalist
I am a fundamentalist Muslim who, by the grace of Allah, knows, follows and strives to practise the fundamentals of Islam. A true Muslim does not shy away from being a fundamentalist. I am proud to be a fundamentalist Muslim because, I know that the fundamentals of Islam are beneficial to humanity and the whole world. There is not a single fundamental of Islam that causes harm or is against the interests of the human race as a whole. Many people harbour misconceptions about Islam and consider several teachings of Islam to be unfair or improper. This is due to insufficient and incorrect knowledge of Islam. If one critically analyzes the teachings of Islam with an open mind, one cannot escape the fact that Islam is full of benefits both at the individual and collective levels.
4. Dictionary meaning of the word ‘fundamentalist’
According to Webster’s dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ was a movement in American Protestanism that arose in the earlier part of the 20th century. It was a reaction to modernism, and stressed the infallibility of the Bible, not only in matters of faith and morals but also as a literal historical record. It stressed on belief in the Bible as the literal word of God. Thus fundamentalism was a word initially used for a group of Christians who believed that the Bible was the verbatim word of God without any errors and mistakes.
According to the Oxford dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ means ‘strict maintenance of ancient or fundamental doctrines of any religion, especially Islam’.
Today the moment a person uses the word fundamentalist he thinks of a Muslim who is a terrorist.
5. Every Muslim should be a terrorist
Every Muslim should be a terrorist. A terrorist is a person who causes terror. The moment a robber sees a policeman he is terrified. A policeman is a terrorist for the robber. Similarly every Muslim should be a terrorist for the antisocial elements of society, such as thieves, dacoits and rapists. Whenever such an anti-social element sees a Muslim, he should be terrified. It is true that the word ‘terrorist’ is generally used for a person who causes terror among the common people. But a true Muslim should only be a terrorist to selective people i.e. anti-social elements, and not to the common innocent people. In fact a Muslim should be a source of peace for innocent people.
6. Different labels given to the same individual for the same action, i.e. ‘terrorist’ and ‘patriot’
Before India achieved independence from British rule, some freedom fighters of India who did not subscribe to non-violence were labeled as terrorists by the British government. The same individuals have been lauded by Indians for the same activities and hailed as ‘patriots’. Thus two different labels have been given to the same people for the same set of actions. One is calling him a terrorist while the other is calling him a patriot. Those who believed that Britain had a right to rule over India called these people terrorists, while those who were of the view that Britain had no right to rule India called them patriots and freedom fighters.
It is therefore important that before a person is judged, he is given a fair hearing. Both sides of the argument should be heard, the situation should be analyzed, and the reason and the intention of the person should be taken into account, and then the person can be judged accordingly.
7. Islam means peace
Islam is derived from the word ‘salaam’ which means peace. It is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world.
Thus every Muslim should be a fundamentalist i.e. he should follow the fundamentals of the Religion of Peace: Islam. He should be a terrorist only towards the antisocial elements in order to promote peace and justice in the society.

The Israel Lobby and US foreign policy

Is one allowed to question that reality, or is the pro-Israel lobby so strong, financially and politically, that the relationship with Israel is taboo and therefore unmentionable? And what happens to those who dare expose the unmentionable? In March 2006 the American political scientists John Mearsheimer (University of Chicago) and Steve Walt (Harvard) published the controversial article 'The Israel Lobby and US foreign policy'. In it they state that it is not, or no longer, expedient for the US to support and protect present-day Israel. Together with the power shifts in Congress and the increasing doubts about the current Middle-East policy, this could become the fuse in the powder keg. Backlight talks to the people concerned in this 'new realism' debate. The documentary sheds light on both parties involved in the discussion: those who wish to maintain the strong tie between the US and Israel (Neocon Richard Perle, the Lebanese Christian Brigitte Gabriel and evangelist John Hagee, the lobby club AIPAC), and those who were critical of it and not infrequently became 'victims' of the lobby. Member of Congress Earl Hilliard from Alabama advocated a rapprochement with the Arab world and was promptly ousted by a political adversary who had the support of Aipac money.

The Guard Who Found Islam

Terry Holdbrooks stood watch over prisoners at Gitmo. What he saw made him adopt their faith.

Army specialist Terry Holdbrooks had been a guard at Guantánamo for about six months the night he had his life-altering conversation with detainee 590, a Moroccan also known as “the General.” This was early 2004, about halfway through Holdbrooks’s stint at Guantánamo with the 463rd Military Police Company. Until then, he’d spent most of his day shifts just doing his duty. He’d escort prisoners to interrogations or walk up and down the cellblock making sure they weren’t passing notes. But the midnight shifts were slow. “The only thing you really had to do was mop the center floor,” he says. So Holdbrooks began spending part of the night sitting cross-legged on the ground, talking to detainees through the metal mesh of their cell doors.

He developed a strong relationship with the General, whose real name is Ahmed Errachidi. Their late-night conversations led Holdbrooks to be more skeptical about the prison, he says, and made him think harder about his own life. Soon, Holdbrooks was ordering books on Arabic and Islam. During an evening talk with Errachidi in early 2004, the conversation turned to the shahada, the one-line statement of faith that marks the single requirement for converting to Islam (”There is no God but God and Muhammad is his prophet”). Holdbrooks pushed a pen and an index card through the mesh, and asked Errachidi to write out the shahada in English and transliterated Arabic. He then uttered the words aloud and, there on the floor of Guantánamo’s Camp Delta, became a Muslim.

When historians look back on Guantánamo, the harsh treatment of detainees and the trampling of due process will likely dominate the narrative. Holdbrooks, who left the military in 2005, saw his share. In interviews over recent weeks, he and another former guard told NEWSWEEK about degrading and sometimes sadistic acts against prisoners committed by soldiers, medics and interrogators who wanted revenge for the 9/11 attacks on America. But as the fog of secrecy slowly lifts from Guantánamo, other scenes are starting to emerge as well, including surprising interactions between guards and detainees on subjects like politics, religion and even music. The exchanges reveal curiosity on both sides—sometimes even empathy. “The detainees used to have conversations with the guards who showed some common respect toward them,” says Errachidi, who spent five years in Guantánamo and was released in 2007. “We talked about everything, normal things, and things [we had] in common,” he wrote to NEWSWEEK in an e-mail from his home in Morocco.

Holdbrooks’s level of identification with the other side was exceptional. No other guard has volunteered that he embraced Islam at the prison (though Errachidi says others expressed interest). His experience runs counter to academic studies, which show that guards and inmates at ordinary prisons tend to develop mutual hostility. But then, Holdbrooks is a contrarian by nature. He can also be conspiratorial. When his company visited the site of the 9/11 attacks in New York, Holdbrooks remembers thinking there had to be a broader explanation, and that the Bush administration must have colluded somehow in the plot.
But his misgivings about Guantánamo—including doubts that the detainees were the “worst of the worst”—were shared by other guards as early as 2002. A few such guards are coming forward for the first time. Specialist Brandon Neely, who was at Guantánamo when the first detainees arrived that year, says his enthusiasm for the mission soured quickly. “There were a couple of us guards who asked ourselves why these guys are being treated so badly and if they’re actually terrorists at all,” he told NEWSWEEK. Neely remembers having long conversations with detainee Ruhal Ahmed, who loved Eminem and James Bond and would often rap or sing to the other prisoners. Another former guard, Christopher Arendt, went on a speaking tour with former detainees in Europe earlier this year to talk critically about the prison.
Holdbrooks says growing up hard in Phoenix—his parents were junkies and he himself was a heavy drinker before joining the military in 2002—helps explain what he calls his “anti-everything views.” He has holes the size of quarters in both earlobes, stretched-out piercings that he plugs with wooden discs. At his Phoenix apartment, bedecked with horror-film memorabilia, he rolls up both sleeves to reveal wrist-to-shoulder tattoos. He describes the ink work as a narrative of his mistakes and addictions. They include religious symbols and Nazi SS bolts, track marks and, in large letters, the words BY DEMONS BE DRIVEN. He says the line, from a heavy-metal song, reminds him to be a better person.
Holdbrooks—TJ to his friends—says he joined the military to avoid winding up like his parents. He was an impulsive young man searching for stability. On his first home leave, he got engaged to a woman he’d known for just eight days and married her three months later. With little prior exposure to religion, Holdbrooks was struck at Gitmo by the devotion detainees showed to their faith. “A lot of Americans have abandoned God, but even in this place, [the detainees] were determined to pray,” he says.
Holdbrooks was also taken by the prisoners’ resourcefulness. He says detainees would pluck individual threads from their jumpsuits or prayer mats and spin them into long stretches of twine, which they would use to pass notes from cell to cell. He noticed that one detainee with a bad skin rash would smear peanut butter on his windowsill until the oil separated from the paste, then would use the oil on his rash.
Errachidi’s detention seemed particularly suspect to Holdbrooks. The Moroccan detainee had worked as a chef in Britain for almost 18 years and spoke fluent English. He told Holdbrooks he had traveled to Pakistan on a business venture in late September 2001 to help pay for his son’s surgery. When he crossed into Afghanistan, he said, he was picked up by the Northern Alliance and sold to American troops for $5,000. At Guantánamo, Errachidi was accused of attending a Qaeda training camp. But a 2007 investigation by the London Times newspaper appears to have corroborated his story; it eventually helped lead to his release.

In prison, Errachidi was an agitator. “Because I spoke English, I was always in the face of the soldiers,” he wrote NEWSWEEK in an e-mail. Errachidi said an American colonel at Guantánamo gave him his nickname, and warned him that generals “get hurt” if they don’t cooperate. He said his defiance cost him 23 days of abuse, including sleep deprivation, exposure to very cold temperatures and being shackled in stress positions. “I always believed the soldiers were doing illegal stuff and I was not ready to keep quiet.” (Navy Cmdr. Jeffrey Gordon, a Pentagon spokesman, said in response: “Detainees have often made claims of abuse that are simply not supported by the facts.”) The Moroccan spent four of his five years at Gitmo in the punishment block, where detainees were denied “comfort items” like paper and prayer beads along with access to the recreation yard and the library.
Errachidi says he does not remember details of the night Holdbrooks converted. Over the years, he says, he discussed a range of religious topics with guards: “I spoke to them about subjects like Father Christmas and Ishac and Ibrahim [Isaac and Abraham] and the sacrifice. About Jesus.” Holdbrooks recalls that when he announced he wanted to embrace Islam, Errachidi warned him that converting would be a serious undertaking and, at Guantánamo, a messy affair. “He wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into.” Holdbrooks later told his two roommates about the conversion, and no one else.
But other guards noticed changes in him. They heard detainees calling him Mustapha, and saw that Holdbrooks was studying Arabic openly. (At his Phoenix apartment, he displays the books he had amassed. They include a leather-bound, six-volume set of Muslim sacred texts and “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Understanding Islam.”) One night his squad leader took him to a yard behind his living quarters, where five guards were waiting to stage a kind of intervention. “They started yelling at me,” he recalls, “asking if I was a traitor, if I was switching sides.” At one point a squad leader pulled back his fist and the two men traded blows, Holdbrooks says.
Holdbrooks spent the rest of his time at Guantánamo mainly keeping to himself, and nobody bothered him further. Another Muslim who served there around the same time had a different experience. Capt. James Yee, a Gitmo chaplain for much of 2003, was arrested in September of that year on suspicion of aiding the enemy and other crimes—charges that were eventually dropped. Yee had become a Muslim years earlier. He says the Muslims on staff at Gitmo—mainly translators—often felt beleaguered. “There was an overall atmosphere by the command to vilify Islam.” (Commander Gordon’s response: “We strongly disagree with the assertions made by Chaplain Yee”).
At Holdbrooks’s next station, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., he says things began to unravel. The only place to kill time within miles of the base was a Wal-Mart and two strip clubs—Big Daddy’s and Big Louie’s. “I’ve never been a fan of strip clubs, so I hung out at Wal-Mart,” he says. Within months, Holdbrooks was released from the military—two years before the end of his commitment. The Army gave him an honorable discharge with no explanation, but the events at Gitmo seemed to loom over the decision. The Army said it would not comment on the matter.
Back in Phoenix, Holdbrooks returned to drinking, in part to suppress what he describes as the anger that consumed him. (Neely, the other ex-guard who spoke to NEWSWEEK, said Guantánamo had made him so depressed he spent up to $60 a day on alcohol during a monthlong leave from the detention center in 2002.) Holdbrooks divorced his wife and spiraled further. Eventually his addictions landed him in the hospital. He suffered a series of seizures, as well as a fall that resulted in a bad skull fracture and the insertion of a titanium plate in his head.

Recently, Holdbrooks has been back in touch with Errachidi, who has suffered his own ordeal since leaving the detention center. Errachidi told NEWSWEEK he had trouble adjusting to his freedom, “trying to learn how to walk without shackles and trying to sleep at night with the lights off.” He signed each of the dozen e-mails he sent to NEWSWEEK with the impersonal ID that his captors had given him: Ahmed 590.
Holdbrooks, now 25, says he quit drinking three months ago and began attending regular prayers at the Tempe Islamic Center, a mosque near the University of Phoenix, where he works as an enrollment counselor. The long scar on his head is now mostly hidden under the lace of his Muslim kufi cap. When the imam at Tempe introduced Holdbrooks to the congregation and explained he’d converted at Guantánamo, a few dozen worshipers rushed over to shake his hand. “I would have thought they had the most savage soldiers serving there,” says the imam, Amr Elsamny, an Egyptian. “I never thought it would be someone like TJ.”

The largest media conglomerate today is Walt Disney Company, whose chairman and CEO, Michael Eisner, is a Jew. The Disney Empire, headed by a man described by one media analyst as a “control freak”, includes several television production companies (Walt Disney Television, Touchstone Television, Buena Vista Television), its own cable network with 14 million subscribers, and two video production companies. As for feature films, the Walt Disney Picture Group, headed by Joe Roth (also a Jew), includes Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, and Caravan Pictures. Disney also owns Miramax Films, run by the Weinstein brothers. When the Disney Company was run by the Gentile Disney family prior to its takeover by Eisner in 1984, it epitomized wholesome, family entertainment. While it still holds the rights to Snow White, under Eisner, the company has expanded into the production of graphic sex and violence. In addition, it has 225 affiliated stations in the United States and is part owner of several European TV companies. ABC’s cable subsidiary, ESPN, is headed by president and CEO Steven Bornstein, a Jew. This corporation also has a controlling share of Lifetime Television and the Arts & Entertainment Network cable companies. ABC Radio Network owns eleven AM and ten FM stations, again in major cities such as New York, Washington, Los Angeles, and has over 3,400 affiliates. Although primarily a telecommunications company, Capital Cities/ABC earned over $1 billion in publishing in 1994.


It owns seven daily newspapers, Fairchild Publications, Chilton Publications, and the Diversified Publishing Group. Time Warner, Inc, is the second of the international media leviathans. The chairman of the board and CEO, Gerald Levin, is a Jew. Time Warner’s subsidiary HBO is the country’s largest pay-TV cable network. Warner Music is by far the world’s largest record company, with 50 labels, the biggest of which is Warner Brothers Records, headed by Danny Goldberg. Stuart Hersch is president of Warnervision, Warner Music’s video production unit. Goldberg and Hersch are Jews. Warner Music was an early promoter of “gangsta rap.” Through its involvement with Interscope Records, it helped popularize a genre whose graphic lyrics explicitly urge Blacks to commit acts of violence against Whites. In addition to cable and music, Time Warner is heavily involved in the production of feature films (Warner Brothers Studio) and publishing. Time Warner’s publishing division (editor-in-chief Norman Pearlstine, a Jew) is the largest magazine publisher in the country (Time, Sports Illustrated, People, Fortune). When Ted Turner, a Gentile, made a bid to buy CBS in 1985, there was panic in media boardrooms across the nation. Turner made a fortune in advertising and then had built a successful cable-TV news network, CNN.
Although Turner employed a number of Jews in key executive positions in CNN and had never taken public positions contrary to Jewish interests, he is a man with a large ego and a strong personality and was regarded by Chairman William Paley (real name Palinsky, a Jew) and the other Jews at CBS as uncontrollable: a loose cannon who might at some time in the future turn against them. Furthermore, Jewish newsman Daniel Schorr, who had worked for Turner, publicly charged that his former boss held a personal dislike for Jews. To block Turner’s bid, CBS executives invited billionaire Jewish theater, hotel, insurance, and cigarette magnate Laurence Tisch to launch a “friendly” takeover of the company, and from 1986 till 1995 Tisch was the chairman and CEO of CBS, removing any threat of non-Jewish influence there. Subsequent efforts by Turner to acquire a major network have been obstructed by Levin’s Time Warner, which owns nearly 20 percent of CBS stock and has veto power over major deals. Viacom, Inc, headed by Sumner Redstone (born Murray Rothstein), a Jew, is the third largest megamedia corporation in the country, with revenues of over $10 billion a year. Viacom, which produces and distributes TV programs for the three largest networks, owns 12 television stations and 12 radio stations. It produces feature films through Paramount Pictures, headed by Jewess Sherry Lansing. Its publishing division includes Prentice Hall, Simon & Schuster, and Pocket Books. It distributes videos through over 4,000 Blockbuster stores. Viacom’s chief claim to fame, however, is as the world’s largest provider of cable programming, through its Showtime, MTV, Nickelodeon, and other networks. Since 1989, MTV and Nickelodeon have acquired larger and larger shares of the younger television audience. With the top three, and by far the largest, media companies in the hand of Jews, it is difficult to believe that such an overwhelming degree of control came about without a deliberate, concerted effort on their part. What about the other big media companies? Number four on the list is Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, which owns Fox Television and 20th Century Fox Films. Murdoch is a Gentile, but Peter Chermin, who heads Murdoch’s film studio and also oversees his TV production, is a Jew. Number five is the Japanese Sony Corporation, whose U.S. subsidiary, Sony Corporation of America, is run by Michael Schulhof, a Jew. Alan Levine, another Jew, heads the Sony Pictures division. Most of the television and movie production companies that are not owned by the largest corporations are also controlled by Jews. For example, New World Entertainment, proclaimed by one media analyst as “the premiere independent TV program producer in the United States,” is owned by Ronald Perelman, a Jew. The best known of the smaller media companies, Dreamworks SKG, is a strictly kosher affair. Dream Works was formed in 1994 amid great media hype by recording industry mogul David Geffen, former Disney Pictures chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, and film director Steven Spielberg, all three of whom are Jews.
The company produces movies, animated films, television programs, and recorded music. Two other large production companies, MCA and Universal Pictures, are both owned by Seagram Company, Ltd. The president and CEO of Seagram, the liquor giant, is Edgar Bronfman Jr., who is also president of the World Jewish Congress. It is well known that Jews have controlled the production and distribution of films since the inception of the movie industry in the early decades of the 20th century. This is still the case today. Films produced by just the five largest motion picture companies mentioned above-Disney, Warner Brothers, Sony, Paramount (Viacom), and Universal (Seagram)-accounted for 74 per cent of the total box-office receipts for the first eight months of 1995. The big three in television network broadcasting used to be ABC, CBS, and NBC. With the consolidation of the media empires, these three are no longer independent entities. While they were independent, however, each was controlled by a Jew since its inception: ABC by Leonard Goldenson, CBS first by William Paley and then by Lawrence Tisch, and NBC first by David Sarnoff and then by his son Robert. Over periods of several decades, these networks were staffed from top to bottom with Jews, and the essential Jewishness of network television did not change when the networks were absorbed by other corporations. The Jewish presence in television news remains particularly strong. As noted, ABC is part of Eisner’s Disney Company, and the executive producers of ABC’s news programs are all Jews: Victor Neufeld (20-20), Bob Reichbloom (Good Morning America), and Rick Kaplan (World News Tonight). CBS was recently purchased by Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Nevertheless, the man appointed by Lawrence Tisch, Eric Ober, remains president of CBS News, and Ober is a Jew. At NBC, now owned by General Electric, NBC News president Andrew Lack is a Jew, as are executive producers Jeff Zucker (Today), Jeff Gralnick (NBC Nightly News), and Neal Shapiro (Dateline).
The Print Media After television news, daily newspapers are the most influential information medium in America. Sixty million of them are sold (and presumably read) each day. These millions are divided among some 1,500 different publications. One might conclude that the sheer number of different newspapers across America would provide a safeguard against Jewish control and distortion. However, this is not the case. There is less independence, less competition, and much less representation of our interests than a casual observer would think. The days when most cities and even towns had several independently owned newspapers published by local people with close ties to the community are gone. Today, most “local” newspapers are owned by a rather small number of large companies controlled by executives who live and work hundreds or ever thousands of miles away. The fact is that only about 25 per cent of the country’s 1,500 papers are independently owned; the rest belong to multi-newspaper chains. Only a handful are large enough to maintain independent reporting staffs outside their own communities; the rest depend on these few for all of their national and international news. The Newhouse empire of Jewish brothers Samuel and Donald Newhouse provides an example of more than the lack of real competition among America’s daily newspapers: it also illustrates the insatiable appetite Jews have shown for all the organs of opinion control on which they could fasten their grip.
The Newhouses own 26 daily newspapers, including several large and important ones, such as the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Newark Star-Ledger, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune; the nation’s largest trade book publishing conglomerate, Random House, with all its subsidiaries; Newhouse Broadcasting, consisting of 12 television broadcasting stations and 87 cable-TV systems, including some of the country’s largest cable networks; the Sunday supplement Parade, with a circulation of more than 22 million copies per week; some two dozen major magazines, including the New Yorker, Vogue, Madmoiselle, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Bride’s, Gentlemen’s Quarterly, Self, House & Garden, and all the other magazines of the wholly owned Conde Nast group. This Jewish media empire was founded by the late Samuel Newhouse, an immigrant from Russia. The gobbling up of so many newspapers by the Newhouse family was in large degree made possible by the fact that newspapers are not supported by their subscribers, but by their advertisers. It is advertising revenue–not the small change collected from a newspaper’s readers–that largely pays the editor’s salary and yields the owner’s profit. Whenever the large advertisers in a city choose to favor one newspaper over another with their business, the favored newspaper will flourish while its competitor dies. Since the beginning of the 20th century, when Jewish mercantile power in America became a dominant economic force, there has been a steady rise in the number of American newspapers in Jewish hands, accompanied by a steady decline in the number of competing Gentile newspapers–primarily as a result of selective advertising policies by Jewish merchants. Furthermore, even those newspapers still under Gentile ownership and management are so thoroughly dependent upon Jewish advertising revenue that their editorial and news reporting policies are largely constrained by Jewish likes and dislikes. It holds true in the newspaper business as elsewhere that he who pays the piper calls the tune.
The suppression of competition and the establishment of local monopolies on the dissemination of news and opinion have characterized the rise of Jewish control over America’s newspapers. The resulting ability of the Jews to use the press as an unopposed instrument of Jewish policy could hardly be better illustrated than by the examples of the nation’s three most prestigious and influential newspapers: the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. These three, dominating America’s financial and political capitals, are the newspapers which set the trends and the guidelines for nearly all the others. They are the ones which decide what is news and what isn’t, at the national and international levels. They originate the news; the others merely copy it, and all three newspapers are in Jewish hands. The New York Times was founded in 1851 by two Gentiles, Henry Raymond and George Jones. After their deaths, it was purchased in 1896 from Jones’s estate by a wealthy Jewish publisher, Adolph Ochs. His great-grandson, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr., is the paper’s current publisher and CEO. The executive editor is Max Frankel, and the managing editor is Joseph Lelyveld. Both of the latter are also Jews. The Sulzberger family also owns, through the New York Times Co., 33 other newspapers, including the Boston Globe; twelve magazines, including McCall’s and Family Circle with circulations of more than 5 million each; seven radio and TV broadcasting stations; a cable-TV system; and three book publishing companies.
The New York Times News Service transmits news stories, features, and photographs from the New York Times by wire to 506 other newspapers, news agencies, and magazines. Of similar national importance is the Washington Post, which, by establishing its “leaks” throughout government agencies in Washington, has an inside track on news involving the Federal government. The Washington Post, like the New York Times, had a non-Jewish origin. It was established in 1877 by Stilson Hutchins, purchased from him in 1905 by John McLean, and later inherited by Edward McLean. In June 1933, however, at the height of the Great Depression, the newspaper was forced into bankruptcy. It was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Eugene Meyer, a Jewish financier. The Washington Post is now run by Katherine Meyer Graham, Eugene Meyer’s daughter. She is the principal stockholder and the board chairman of the Washington Post Co. In 1979, she appointed her son Donald publisher of the paper. He now also holds the posts of president and CEO of the Washington Post Co. The Washington Post Co. has a number of other media holdings in newspapers, television, and magazines, most notably the nation’s number-two weekly newsmagazine, Newsweek. The Wall Street Journal, which sells 1.8 million copies each weekday, is the nation’s largest-circulation daily newspaper. It is owned by Dow Jones & Company, Inc., a New York corporation which also publishes 24 other daily newspapers and the weekly financial tabloid Barron’s, among other things. The chairman and CEO of Dow Jones is Peter Kann, who is a Jew. Kann also holds the posts of chairman and publisher of the Wall Street Journal. Most of New York’s other major newspapers are in no better hands than the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. The New York Daily News is owned by Jewish real-estate developer Mortimer B. Zuckerman. The Village Voice is the personal property of Leonard Stern, the billionaire Jewish owner of the Hartz Mountain pet supply firm.

Other Mass Media

The story is pretty much the same for other media as it is for television, radio, and newspapers. Consider, for example, newsmagazines. There are only three of any note published in the United States: Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News and World Report. Time, with a weekly circulation of 4.1 million, is published by a susidiary of Time Warner Communications. The CEO of Time Warner Communications, as mentioned above, is Gerald Levin, a Jew. Newsweek, as mentioned above, is published by the Washington Post Company, under the Jewess Katherine Meyer Graham. Its weekly circulation is 3.2 million. U.S. News & World Report, with a weekly circulation of 2.3 million, is owned and published by Mortimer Zuckerman, a Jew. Zuckerman also owns the Atlantic Monthly and New York’s tabloid newspaper, the Daily News, which is the sixth-largest paper in the country. Among the giant book-publishing conglomerates, the situation is also Jewish. Three of the six largest book publishers in the U.S., according to Publisher’s Weekly, are owned or controlled by Jews. The three are first-place Random House (with its many subsidiaries, including Crown Publishing Group), third-place Simon & Schuster, and sixth-place Time Warner Trade Group (including Warner Books and Little, Brown). Another publisher of special significance is Western Publishing. Although it ranks only 13th in size among all U.S. publishers, it ranks first among publishers of children’s books, with more than 50 percent of the market. Its chairman and CEO is Richard Snyder, a Jew, who just replaced Richard Bernstein, also a Jew.

The Effect of Jewish Control of the Media

These are the facts of Jewish media control in America. Anyone willing to spend several hours in a large library can verify their accuracy. I hope that these facts are disturbing to you, to say the least. Should any minority be allowed to wield such awesome power? Certainly, not and allowing a people with beliefs such as expressed in the Talmud, to determine what we get to read or watch in effect gives this small minority the power to mold our minds to suit their own Talmudic interests, interests which as we have demonstrated are diametrically opposed to the interests of our people. By permitting the Jews to control our news and entertainment media, we are doing more than merely giving them a decisive influence on our political system and virtual control of our government; we also are giving them control of the minds and souls of our children, whose attitudes and ideas are shaped more by Jewish television and Jewish films than by their parents, their schools, or any other influence.

Stop America’s war which makes Muslims fight Muslims!

On 8 May, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Yousuf Raza Gillani, announced a war in Swat in a telecast address to the nation, in these words, “For the sanctity of this pure land, for national dignity, to suppress the extremists, to ensure the protection of people, the army has been deployed.” However, the Prime Minister’s venture is neither for the restoration of national dignity and nor for the public protection, rather it is to restore the dignity of the cowardly American occupying forces and for ensuring America’s survival in Afghanistan, where she is immersed in a deep quagmire.

Keeping control of Afghanistan is not possible without crushing the Mujahideen, who are fighting against America in Afghanistan. But cowardly American and NATO forces, whilst possessing the latest weaponry, are afraid of confrontation with poorly equipped, small groups of Mujahideen. Moreover, the American economy is in continuous, unabated recession, despite all efforts, whilst politically, in the international arena, America has lost the support of her allies in her campaign of occupation and hegemony. Countries like China and Russia are openly citing their concerns about the American presence in the region. Hence, in this situation America is unable to revitalise her failing campaign in Afghanistan alone.

America depends upon the Pakistan Army to emerge from this deepening quagmire. America urgently desires that the Pakistan Army stands with her and fights wholeheartedly in support of the US war of occupation and hegemony. However, America knows very well that the Muslims of Pakistan harbour a deep hatred for America and absolutely reject the American presence in the region, and so are unwilling to launch their army for the sake of America’s war. Moreover, there is a negative opinion within the Pakistan Army itself about America’s war. All of which amounts to a great obstacle for America in getting essential military help from Pakistan. Thus it was necessary for America to create an atmosphere of chaos and fear to enable the start of military operations within Pakistan. These operations on the one hand ensure that the Mujahideen who are fighting in Afghanistan against the American occupation will now turn their guns away from the real enemy, America, and on to their Muslims brothers of the Pakistan Army; whilst on the other hand, these operations are an attempt to conceal the fact that the real cause of the chaos in the region is the illegal American occupation of Afghanistan, which the Pakistani government fully supports by providing supply lines for weaponry, food and ordinance to the occupying forces of America and NATO in Afghanistan, whilst deploying thousands of Muslim soldiers at the Pak-Afghan border to stop any attacks by Pakistani Muslims on the occupying forces.

This is the reality of the military operations which the Pakistani government began first in the tribal areas and then extended to the settled areas of NWFP. The result of these operations are hundreds of thousands of homeless, noble Muslim women spending their days and nights under the bare sky, elderly and young plunged into angst and despair, with countless families suffering. Houses, markets, schools and shops are being converted to rubble, whilst the blood of Muslims is shed without respite.

The Pakistan government has not only pitched the Muslim army against their own brothers, she simultaneously started a malicious, carefully orchestrated campaign in which she is presented a distorted picture to gain public opinion to her favour. Learning from the Lal Masjid experience, the government has taken carefully planned steps. Through an organized media campaign, the government tried to sway Pakistani public opinion in favour of the military operations. The attack on Minawan police training centre and the video of the flogging of a girl were used for the same purpose, to prepare the ground for military operations which were planned weeks in advance. To justify these military operations, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that these people were challenging the writ of government and in such a case the government was left with no other option but to use force. We ask: wasn’t this writ challenged when America openly and flagrantly killed children, women and the elderly in Wazaristan and Banu through its drone attacks? Why did the Prime Minister not appear on the media then to announce military operations against these drone attacks? Were these drone attacks not challenging the “writ of government,” coming one after the other, despite continuous government protests? And is the American plan to grant India opportunities in the region not a challenge to the government’s “writ”? Though it is a grave threat, why is the Pakistani government helping the execution of this plan? Indeed, the government has signed the Pak-Afghan transit trade agreement, under the guardianship of US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, in Washington, although the political and economical fruits of this transit trade are only for the benefit of India. As for Prime Minister Gilani’s claim of guarding the honour of Swat’s women as a justification for his military operations, was the Prime Minister not worried about the honour of the Muslim daughter, Dr. Afia Siddique, who is imprisoned in America and whose children remain missing? So, why has his government taken care not to raise a word about Afia Siddique during its numerous meetings with the Americans?

O Muslims of Pakistan!

These rulers are liars and traitors against Islam and Muslims. They are only sincere to their own survival by fulfilling the interests of colonist Kuffar. These rulers are turning Muslims against Muslims to protect America, even though Allah سبحانه وتعالى said in the Noble Qur’an,

وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِناً مُّتَعَمِّداً فَجَزَآؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِداً فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَاباً عَظِيماً

“And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allâh are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.” [Surah An-Nisa’a 4:93]
RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى said,

سباب المسلم فسق وقتاله كفر

“Abusing the Muslim is an aggression and fighting him is disbelief.” [Al-Bukhari, Muslim]
And RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى said,

إذا التقى المسلمان بسيفيهما فالقاتل والمقتول في النار , قلنا يا رسول الله هذا القاتل فما بال المقتول قال انه كان حريصا على قتل صاحبه

“When two Muslims face each other in fighting and one kills the other, then both the killer and the killed are in the hell-fire.” The Companions asked, “O Messenger of Allah, this is the killer – what about the poor person who has been killed?” The Prophet, سلم و عليه الله صلى, said “He had the intention to kill his companion.”

The evil of these rulers is so extensive they even seek to incite sectarian conflict between Muslims to serve America. Previously America used the same tactic in Iraq, where she sought to strengthen her self by inflaming a Sunni-Shia conflict. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى punish these rulers, who descend to any depths to please the Kuffar. Indeed, the reality of these rulers is described by RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى when he said,

«إِنَّهُ سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَيْسَ بِوَارِدٍ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ وَارِدٌ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ»

“There will be rulers after me, whoever testifies to their falsehood and lies and helped them in their treachery, he is not from me, and I am not from him (i.e. I have nothing to do with him). He shall not come near me at the cistern (Hawdh Kauthar). And whoever does not testify to their falsehood and does not help him in his treachery, he is from me and I am from him and he shall meet me at the Hawdh.” [Reported in Sunan an-Nisai on the authority of Ka’ab ibn ‘Ujrah (r.a.)]

These rulers do not even feel abhorrence when they meet with the so-called “civilized” American officials, who have punished the Muslims in Guantanamo Bay and Abu Gharaib with such brutal torture that even the Firaun would have shied from. In American torture cells Muslim men and women were piled over each other, Qur’an was defiled, the faces of prisoners were washed in toilets and Muslims were electrocuted. Yet, despite all this, in the eyes of these rulers, the American nation represents the peak of civilization. The rulers are consumed with honour and pride at any opportunity to meet them, whilst harbouring contempt and disgust for Islam, its rules and its punishments.

O Muslims of Pakistan!

How can you remain silent whilst your sons in the armed forces are being ordered to bomb and attack their own Muslim brothers? Do you not shed tears of blood when you see that your rulers are using your own army to plunge all the Muslims of the region under the dominance of their worst enemy, the America?
O Ulema of Pakistan!

You adopted a half-hearted stance at the time of the Lal Masjid massacre and Musharraf succeeded in spilling blood of Muslim women and children in a mosque and madrassa in the very capital Pakistan. The pain of that operation is still present in the hearts of the Muslims of Pakistan. Today, these “democratic” rulers are seeking to turn the whole of Swat into a Lal Musjid for the sake of their masters, America. So, will you not rise now and stop these rulers from this wasteful campaign? Arise and mobilize all your students in madrassas and march towards the palaces of these rulers, before America eradicates all mosques and madrassas from Afghanistan and the Tribal Areas.

O Political Parties of Pakistan!

You claim that you look after the affairs of the Muslims of Pakistan. And you are witnessing that Muslims are being turned against Muslims for the sake of America. So is there any sincere person amongst you who will come forward and account these rulers in the manner that it deserves and seize their hands? If you will not do this then do you wish that Allah سبحانه وتعالى includes you in the ranks of these oppressive rulers on the Day of Judgement? RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم said,

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يُعَذِّبُ الْعَامَّةَ بِعَمَلِ الْخَاصَّةِ حَتَّى يَرَوْا الْمُنْكَرَ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْهِمْ وَهُمْ قَادِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يُنْكِرُوهُ فَلَا يُنْكِرُوهُ فَإِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ عَذَّبَ اللَّهُ الْخَاصَّةَ وَالْعَامَّةَ

“Allah does not punish common people by the bad deeds of some specific people, unless they see munkar between them and are capable to refrain it but do not do so. If they do this then Allah will punish both of them”[Musnad Ahmad]

O Muslim sons of the Armed Forces!

Do you not desire that your pure blood is spilled in the way of Allah سبحانه وتعالى to raise the Deen of Allah سبحانه وتعالى as the highest, rather than to maintain the American Raj over the necks of your own people? For how long will these rulers keep using you as a fuel for America’s war?

Misconception Vs. True Face Of Islam

There is a face of Islam the world does not know.

Fair distinction is needed between the concept of Islam and some of its unfair practices. The newly bred term “Islamophobia,” is feared to be infiltrating the mentality of the Western, European and other societies. It may be putting forth unnecessary prejudice and negative speculation against the Islam by the non-Muslims, so we need to ascertain how relevant the term is in itself. Is it about fearing all aspects of Islam, or fearing only some of its distorted or misinterpreted values, which are perceived to lead to radicalism, fundamentalism, discrimination or even terrorism?

There is one adage that the term “Islamophobia” is deceptive and the phobia (fear) is illogical. Perceivably, what is to be feared is the Political Islam, or some practices in it that sound ethically wrong.
The world media is saturated with the terms Islamic Fundamentalism, Islamic Radicalism and Islamic Terrorism, causing all the havoc or negative backlash against believers of the religion. We need to separate “Islamic” out of these generally unwelcome terms. Maybe the discontent is not with the Islam, but with the very bad aspects associated with the religion. Negative stereotypes abound because the majority of those perpetrating world terrorism, such as al Qaeda, are Muslims.

But does it mean that all the people in Islam have to bear the responsibility for the unruly characteristics of some of the people in the religion, who have nothing to do with the moderate lots? Certainly not! It may be only a coincidence that the majority of world terrorists are Muslims. It’s not ethical to associate Islam with the unruly characteristics followed by some of its less moderate believers.

It’s of course not reasonable for the West, and the rest of us, to fear Islam as a religion, its genuinely humanistic teachings or its deference to the lord, Allah. While criticizing bad practices of Islam, it’s extremely essential not to impose any hatred or contempt against ordinary and moderate Muslims. And it would be more genuine if, not only non-Muslims, but all the intellectual and moderate believers of Islam come forward to refute and discourage the wrong practices in Islam as well as to uphold the good practices in it and to highlight Islam as being an equally good religion as others.

Some call this distinguishing and questioning by non-Muslims “intruding” in Islamic norms. Though I am not a stern believer or blindly faithful, I happen to be a Hindu by religion. And I certainly don’t mind if anyone criticizes the unfair norms or distorted or misinterpreted practices of any doctrine in my religion. Criticisms could help provoke changes for good. Couldn’t it be viewed just from the humanist point of view rather than from any religious or cultural phenomenon? Arguably, we could.

We could be right to question the “unfair practices.” But what if the Muslims in their country and living abroad, especially in the Western or European countries, are misunderstood, annoyed, and intimidated, simply because they are from the religion? It’s definitely unethical and we can’t refrain to deem that such belief resembles inadequate knowledge about the religion.

The Vienna-based European Monitoring Center on Racism and Xenophobia, which tracks ethnic and religious bias across the 25-nation EU, has cautioned in a recent report that Muslims routinely suffer acts ranging from physical attacks to discrimination in the job and housing markets. Beate Winkler, the group’s director said that the key word is “respect.” “People need to feel respected and included. We need to highlight the common ground that we have.” Winkler said that since the September 11, 2001 attacks, many of Europe’s nearly 13 million Muslims feel “put under a general suspicion of terrorism.” The 117-page report underpins the increasing urgency of dealing with the religious tensions in Europe.

For instance, especially in Western or European nations, it’s certainly ironic and unfair that if a crime is committed by a Muslim, chances are high that it may be linked with “terrorism” or “Jihad.” This highly reflects a prejudiced notion and, as the scholars in Islam argues, that “Jihad” doesn’t encourages terrorism or nonsensical murders, here the accusers must need to rethink their claimings. Such crimes could have been solely committed by a criminal, and it may have nothing to do with Islam or Jihad. As there is no significance to criticize if the unfair practices or some cultural aspects in Islam are questioned, it’s equally refutable that many Muslims are subjected to prejudiced discrimination and intimidation simply due to their adherence or recognition with the religion.

All religions and customs are made by humans, and we can’t deny that there could be some flaws in them. This is relevant in speaking about Islam, Hinduism, Christianity and so on. Any cultural idea or practice deserves to be analyzed and examined. Our nationalism, culture and religion are our dignity. We should be ready to prevent and uphold our identity, but this doesn’t mean we are exempt from having moral criticisms against our practices, no matter which religion or culture we belong to.

ISLAMIC law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.

The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.

Rulings issued by a network of five sharia courts are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court.

Previously, the rulings of sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.


It has now emerged that sharia courts with these powers have been set up in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester with the network’s headquarters in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Two more courts are being planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, whose Muslim Arbitration Tribunal runs the courts, said he had taken advantage of a clause in the Arbitration Act 1996.

Under the act, the sharia courts are classified as arbitration tribunals. The rulings of arbitration tribunals are binding in law, provided that both parties in the dispute agree to give it the power to rule on their case.

Siddiqi said: “We realised that under the Arbitration Act we can make rulings which can be enforced by county and high courts. The act allows disputes to be resolved using alternatives like tribunals. This method is called alternative dispute resolution, which for Muslims is what the sharia courts are.”

The disclosure that Muslim courts have legal powers in Britain comes seven months after Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, was pilloried for suggesting that the establishment of sharia in the future “seems unavoidable” in Britain.

In July, the head of the judiciary, the lord chief justice, Lord Phillips, further stoked controversy when he said that sharia could be used to settle marital and financial disputes.

In fact, Muslim tribunal courts started passing sharia judgments in August 2007. They have dealt with more than 100 cases that range from Muslim divorce and inheritance to nuisance neighbours.

It has also emerged that tribunal courts have settled six cases of domestic violence between married couples, working in tandem with the police investigations.

Siddiqi said he expected the courts to handle a greater number of “smaller” criminal cases in coming years as more Muslim clients approach them. “All we are doing is regulating community affairs in these cases,” said Siddiqi, chairman of the governing council of the tribunal.

Jewish Beth Din courts operate under the same provision in the Arbitration Act and resolve civil cases, ranging from divorce to business disputes. They have existed in Britain for more than 100 years, and previously operated under a precursor to the act.

Politicians and church leaders expressed concerns that this could mark the beginnings of a “parallel legal system” based on sharia for some British Muslims.

Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: “If it is true that these tribunals are passing binding decisions in the areas of family and criminal law, I would like to know which courts are enforcing them because I would consider such action unlawful. British law is absolute and must remain so.”

Douglas Murray, the director of the Centre for Social Cohesion, said: “I think it’s appalling. I don’t think arbitration that is done by sharia should ever be endorsed or enforced by the British state.”

There are concerns that women who agree to go to tribunal courts are getting worse deals because Islamic law favours men.

Siddiqi said that in a recent inheritance dispute handled by the court in Nuneaton, the estate of a Midlands man was divided between three daughters and two sons.

The judges on the panel gave the sons twice as much as the daughters, in accordance with sharia. Had the family gone to a normal British court, the daughters would have got equal amounts.

In the six cases of domestic violence, Siddiqi said the judges ordered the husbands to take anger management classes and mentoring from community elders. There was no further punishment.

In each case, the women subsequently withdrew the complaints they had lodged with the police and the police stopped their investigations.

Siddiqi said that in the domestic violence cases, the advantage was that marriages were saved and couples given a second chance.

Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: “The MCB supports these tribunals. If the Jewish courts are allowed to flourish, so must the sharia ones.”

Anti Pakistan forces supported by foreign hands became more active in
achieving their set objective of separation of Balochistan after
foreseeing their defeat in Afghanistan, FATA, Bajaur and Swat.
Deliberate efforts of anti Pakistan block regarding creation of
Greater Balochistan is under its way and reached on its peak after
elimination of three nationalist leaders. Now it's the responsibility
of patriotic politicians, and media to feel their responsibility to
unveil the actual conspiracy of disintegration of our mother land. The
electronic media should not act as fueling instrument of further
igniting the situation. The political leadership and media should play
their role to defuse the situation by narrating actual facts behind
the plot against Pakistan. They must reveal the possible motives and
objectives of interior and exterior anti Pakistan elements. The events
leading to the current situation speeded up when a possible shape of
map of Pakistan in 2015 was shown in various newspapers and on
electronic channels of some foreign media. In fact it was an
intentional effort of injecting the idea of Greater Balochistan in
general masses. Sorry to say that our some of electronic media
channels and so called journalists like Saleem Shahzad have started
projecting and defending Jews and Indian point of view. Some of the
analysis's failed to comprehend the actual root causes of the problem
and indirectly started playing in the hands of anti Pakistan channels
and media pundits. Baloch nationalist' s leaders by design started
maligning Pakistani intelligence agencies on the instruction of their
launchers countries (US and India).

According to local sources, the mysterious kidnapping and killing of
three Baloch Nationalist' s Leaders Ghulam Muhammad, Chairman BNM, Lala
Munir District President BNM Panjgoor and Sher Muhammad Baloch,
General Secretary of BRP at Turbat on 9th April 2009 has drawn
extremely adverse reactions through out the country, particularly in
Balochistan. Political leaders, media and prominent members of the
civil society across the country have divided into two, one expressed
resentment over the incident whereas true and loyal leadership of the
federal as well provincial government has not only strongly condemned
the killings but the PM has also ordered a judicial inquiry into the
incident. Taking suo motu notice of the killings, a division bench of
the Balochistan High Court has also summoned the Home Secretary and
concerned police officers on 16 Apr 2009. The provincial government
has meanwhile formed a tribunal headed by a High Court Judge to probe
the case. However, local media influenced by the nationalists are
giving negative projection to the incident and leveling unfounded
allegations of the incident against LEAs/ Intelligence agencies. In
this regard the nationalists' elements are propagating the so called
affiliation of killed leaders with the Quam Dost Committee set up to
probe the case of the missing persons and their role in recovery of UN
official John Solecki to implicate the security agencies. The actual
facts and open truth in this case is that these so called leaders used
to involve in anti state activities and very much part of terrorist's
organizations supported by RAW. India has totally diverted her whole
efforts towards Pakistan after getting horrible defeat in Sri Lanka.
Washington too is supporting these sparest movement of Balochistan
since her basic interests of stopping Pak- China project of developing
Gawadar Port was failed . Therefore now as a last attempt, US have now
started promoting the insurgency in Balochistan with the help of our
traditional rival India.

The nationalist' s elements at the behest of opposing elements are all
out to capitalize on the situation for achievement of their ulterior
motives by creating law and order problem in the province, besides
drawing attention of the world community and international media to
further their separatist agenda. On 12 April Attaullaha Mengal Ex
chief minister while attending a discussion forum of Express Channel
demanded the rights of self determination on the line of Kashmiri
which reflect the actual motives of such type anti state leaders.

DG ISPR on 9th April 2009 in a statement has strongly condemned the
brutal murder of the Baloch leaders, categorically denied involvement
of intelligence agencies in the incident and asked the people to wait
for the outcome of judicial inquiry instead of casting aspersions on
the security agencies.

It is worth mentioning here that the incident should also be seen in
the background of the recent visit of the President to the province in
which he had not only promised to look into all the genuine demands of
the nationalists but also allocated a generous sum of Rs.46.6 billion
for development purposes. While the government sincerely is interested
in bringing Balochistan insurrection to an end, other non-state actors
are bent on undermining all chances of reconciliation. Thus forces
activated and made a plan to fail the positive efforts and steps of
the government considering these as obstacles in their way of
separatist's movements. On the other hands preliminary investigation
reveal number of possible Connects of these murder like: (one)
Personal Enmity. Ghulam Muhammad had an old enmity with his ex
father-in-law Haji Sharif who had lodged an FIR against him. Haji
Sharif was planning to target him since long. (One), Tussle within
BNM, Tussle and grouping within BNM as well as with other nationalist
parties had taken place in recent past. Efforts of these individuals
to take lead role were taken as threat by some people within party.
Killing may be result of the internal political rivalry of the
nationalist parties/ leaders.(Three) Iranian Connection, in that all
the three killed Baloch leaders recently visited Iran (few months
back) and tried to unite Iranian Baloch under their political
platform. On this account, they received negative response from the
Iranian community and were also on the hit list of Iranian
Intelligence. (Four) Possibility of their elimination by Jundullah
could not be ruled out whose stance is totally against the separatist
stance followed by sub nationalist of Balochistan. Apparently the
individuals were purporting/ propagating themselves to be the
mediators/ facilitators in the case of kidnapped UN official John
Solecki but some facts about the deal are:(one) The killed leaders
were actually involved in the kidnapping being members of the gang and
Ghulam Muhammad was negotiating the deal on both ends.(two) After
negotiating the deal of release of UN official, they had received huge
ransom directly from US authorities. (three) Members of the kidnapping
gang could be behind these killings due to dispute over distribution
of ransom money.

The Indian RAW Angle cannot be ruled out since she is supporting anti
federation Baloch elements in Balochistan with sanctuaries, funds
arms, ammunition and other logistics support is not hidden but has
been confined by outside neutral sources also. For example: - Ms
Christine Fair, a former Rand scholar, has recently stated: "Having
visited the Indian mission in Zahedan, Iran, I can assure you they are
not issuing visas as the main activity! Moreover, India has run
operations from its mission in Mazar Sharif (through which it
supported the Northern Alliance) and is likely doing so from the other
consulates, it has reopened consulates in Jalalabad and Kandahar along
the border. Indian officials have told me privately that they are
pumping money into Balochistan" . So one suspicion is that India could
be "responding" to what it alleges are the recent Pakistan-planned
acts of terrorism in India. Notwithstanding above, involvement of
Indians in fanning unrest/ supporting separatist elements in
Balochistan is an open secret. Braham Dagh Bugti is openly supported
by Indians and has established Ferrari Camps in
Balochistan/ Afghanistan in connivance with RAW and has a strong/ wide
terrorist network in Balochistan. He might be behind this incident to
sabotage the government's peace efforts / installation of new Bugti
Chief.

Now some true facts about Ghulam Muhammad, Chairman, BNM malicious
activities in Balochistan, (One) He was a staunch sub nationalist
leader and had been BSO president. (Two) Later in 2002 he become
Chairmen BNM and used the death of Nawab Akbar Bughti to promote his
sub nationalist politics. (Three) He openly supported militant
activities of BLA/ BLF against security forces and settlers of
Balochistan. (Four) He was also appointed as Secretary General under
BNF platform (Group of sub-nationalists parties). (Five) Ghulam
Muhammad's negative and anti state indoctrination influenced a large
number of populations in Mekran Division. (Six) Ghulam Muhammad had
been charged in various FIRs for carrying out attacks on FC troops and
destruction to public/ Government property. (Seven) The individual
maintained anti state stance and openly rejected federal authority. He
used to recruit militants for Baloch Liberation Force/ Baloch
Liberation Army. He was working on and execution of a strategy for
eliminating and forcing out settler communities particularly Punjabis
from Makran. He also spread hatred towards government among masses.
The numbers of FIR were registered against him in those he was
nominated openly accused for notorius activities some of FIR on
records: Attack on Frontier Corps. 12/ 05 - Police Station Mand,
Laying of anti tank mine. 12/ 06 - Police Station Mand, Destruction of
Government/ Public Property. 163/ 06 - Police Station Turbat,
Destruction of Government/ Public Property. 179/ 06 - Police Station
Turbat, Attack on Frontier Corps. 36/ 08 - Police Station Mand, Attack
on Frontier Corps. 17/ 09 - Police Station Panjgoor, Attempt to murder
case (Haji Sharif). 12/ 09 - Police Station Mand, Similarly, Lala
Munir, District President BNM, Panjgoor was also a notorious
personality of the area . He was a strong sub nationalist leader of
Panjgoor District and was a close friend of Ghulam Muhammad. He had
effectively organized the network of BNM in Panjgoor as District
President BNM and was actively involved in staging anti state
processions/ demonstrations besides creating prejudice/ hatred towards
Punjabis/ other settlers. He was nominated in various FIRs on charges
of attacking FC troops and destruction of public/ government property.
Two cases against him were registered against him, which were Attack
on Police/ Destruction of Public/ Government Property. 106/ 06 -
Police Station Panjgoor and Attack on Frontier Corps Camp Panjgoor.
17/ 09 - Police Station Panjgoor Third, so called hero ( Sher
Muhammad) was basically the resident of Chan Bahar Iran, but spent his
childhood and later part in Mand, Turbat and Karachi. He was charged
under a case in District Panjgoor for firing on FC troops under FIR
17/ 09 of Police Station Panjgoor.

Concluding, I must say that American and Indian dream of capturing the
region will not be fulfilled because Pakistan, China, Russia, Iran,
and central Asian States are well aware of their hegemonic design but
there is a definite need of taking proactive measures against the
malicious Plan of New Delhi. Balochistan Liberation Army has killed
248 innocent Individuals form October till today which include poor
Kashmiris, Punjabi and Pakhtunes. Pakistan government should take firm
steps in handling the issue intelligently. The media should show the
actual faces of so called nationalist leaders like Sardar Mengal and
others, who are playing in the hands of American and India. Political
top brass should sit and get together with a view to fight the
Pakistan battle first rather than discussing petty issues.

1. The Ismailis (followers of the Aga Khan) all professedly believe that the Qur'an was time bound and was not meant to be a Universal message for all times. They believe that their spiritual leader, Karim Aga Khan, is the "walking - talking Qur'an" and his "religious pronouncements", whatever they may be, are the "guidance" for the present times. The fundamental article of faith that there will not be any NEW revelations or "wahy" after the Qur'an, is being completely violated by the Ismailis.

2. The Aga Khan has officially Declared himself, before his followers, as the "Mazhar of Allah on earth". The word "mazhar" means "copy" or "manifest". Consequently, these Ismailis who call themselves Muslims do "sujood" before him. So even the primary axiomatic principle of Tawheed is being fundamentally and formally violated by them.

3. The Ismailis are not instructed to offer the Islamic Salaah, observe Saum or perform Hajj. They have replaced Salaah with certain shirk-infested Dua'as (thrice a day). They are told that their Hajj is a personal "Glimpse" (Deedaar) of Karim Aga Khan.

4. The Aga Khan and his appointees 'forgive the sins' of the followers on regular basis. Ismailis are misled into believing that they will not be questioned on the Day of Judgment for the sins that are already forgiven in their Jamatkhanas (community centers). Forgiving of sins is the exclusive prerogative and privilege of Allah (swt) alone. Qur'an 3:135.

5. Against this backdrop, most of the poor (spiritually poor) Ismailis who are not introduced to al-Furqan are confused and misguided. Hence, Ismailis are very easy prey to missionary efforts by various Christian groups and Baha'is. I have known a couple of young ex-Ismailis who are today preaching "Pauline Christianity" to Ismailis as evangelical missionaries.

6. Karim Aga Khan's own daughter Zahra having married a practising Christian has opened the gates for young Ismailis girls to follow the footsteps of a family member of their beloved Imam-e-Zaman. The parents of the Ismaili girls who wish to marry outside of Islam have no recourse but to let them go.

7. The Aga Khan has made Halaal for the Ismailis that which Allah has made Haraam for the Muslims. Taking of interest (usury) is not forbidden by the religious instruction classes run by the "Tariqaah" board of the Ismailis. As a matter of fact, the much publicized "Venture Capital" program (details on the website of FORBES Magazine - search under "Aga Khan"), of loaning funds on interest by the AKFED (Aga Khan Fund & Economic Development), has been a great success. Similar entrepreneurial projects are now being actively promoted and introduced to poor Muslims of Tajikistan and neighboring areas.

8. The Muslim Ummaah and the various Muslim leaders are not fully aware of these Un-Islamic acts and beliefs of this community of less than two million members, who claim to be the Ismaili Muslims. Surprisingly, their leader Aga Khan claims himself to be a spiritual leader of 15 million Muslims and a Direct Descendant of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam).

9. Earlier, one did not have authentic books on Ismailism, but it is not so anymore. There are two authentic books as well as one comprehensive web site exposing the inner practices of the Ismailis and the Proclamations (Farmans) of the Aga Khans. Hence, now you have no "hujjah" argument or excuse left before Allah (swt) for not taking up the task of inviting the misguided "Ismaili Muslims" towards the Deen of Allah (swt) and not safeguarding them from committing unpardonable sin of Shirk.


10. The Aga Khan in collaboration with so many Western powers and aid, has set up the world-wide Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) which runs several institutions and service companies both in the profit and not for profit sectors. This network is very actively operating in Pakistan, India, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Bangladesh, and has now started concentrating its efforts in Tajikistan and the neighbouring areas where there is a concentration of Muslims who have not known or openly practised Islam for the decades. By taking up economical, social, educational and rural development efforts through NGOs (Non-Govt. Organizations) within the AKDN, the Ismailis and the Aga Khan have gained wide acceptance amongst these countries and masses.
